For years, I thought cleaning products were just… cleaning products. If it smelled “clean,” looked shiny, and came from a trusted store shelf, I assumed it was fine. But over time, I started paying closer attention, and that is what began my journey of helping myself and others detox our homes.
I began learning more about what was actually inside many of the products we were bringing into our homes every single day.
The fragrances. The residues. The warning labels. The ingredients most of us cannot even pronounce.
And honestly?
It was overwhelming. Like many others, I simply wanted to create a healthier home for my family.
I wasn’t trying to become a wellness expert. I wasn’t looking to start a business. I just wanted to learn how to detox our homes in simple, realistic ways.
And as it turned out, that one small focus ended up changing so much more than my cleaning routine.
It eventually became a mission. And over time, it became a meaningful income stream.
My Journey Toward a Healthier Home
When I first started learning about healthier living, I realized that our homes can quietly become overloaded. That is when I discovered the importance of learning to detox our homes. And then I realized my passion for helping others also earn meaningful income for them and their family. For the past two decades, I have invested my time helping others do the same – detox our homes and earn income as we do it by teaching others to do the same.
The home detox wasn’t just about decluttering, but clearing out:
- Synthetic fragrances
- Harsh cleaners
- Disposable products
- Chemical residues
- Air pollutants
- Laundry additives
- Products that require warning labels to use safely
The more I learned, the more I realized that many families simply do not know there are effective, simple, affordable options available. And honestly, I understood why. Researching every ingredient and every product can feel exhausting.

The truth is…
Most of us are busy. We are juggling work, family, meals, schedules, sports, responsibilities, and trying to simply make it through the week. And the fact is, there is not a lot of money in running commercials for natural, sustainable living. The commercials shown to our children on their devices, during the big games, are most often chemical-based products because there is a lot of marketing budget behind those products. I am grateful that Norwex places its advertising budget into it’s Independent Consultants. That is what creates a beautiful, meaningful, make-life-better income opportunity.
That is one reason I became so passionate about helping people detox our homes in practical, manageable steps instead of trying to change everything overnight. Because sustainable change usually happens one decision at a time.
Why I Chose to Sell Norwex and Detox Our Homes
As I searched for better solutions, I eventually discovered Norwex. At first, I was skeptical. I already owned expensive microfiber, and I wasn’t in the mood to be “sold” something better. My microfiber was still needing to be used with some sort of cleaner, so the idea that Norwex fiber was actually good enough to clean with JUST WATER. Because that one thing CHANGED OUR HOME completely, saved us SO MUCH money and time, and improved our air quality with one simple change.
So if you are skeptical, I get it. I was there. Healthy skepicism is not a bad thing. But…
But once I tried the products for myself, I saw an immediate difference. And in that moment, I knew this was the product I was called to educate others on. At first, I thought an extra $500 per month would be very helpful, but I didn’t realize out of the gates that this very opportunity would not only change hundreds and thousands of other lives… but it would change ours.
Not only did my home feel cleaner, but I also noticed:
- Less clutter under my sinks
- Fewer disposable products being used – being “eco” without even really trying! It’s built into the fiber of Norwex!
- Simpler cleaning routines
- Less exposure to harsh chemical smells
- More confidence in what we were using around our family
- And, did I mention the $$$$ we saved?!!! HUGE.
What impacted me even more was the mission behind it. The difference I was making every time I went out and did a Norwex event (online or in-person). It was so rewarding to see others understand and implement this incredible shift.
Helping families reduce unnecessary chemical exposure. Helping people simplify. Helping homes become healthier. Helping moms feel empowered instead of overwhelmed. Helping people cross things off their cleaning budget and freeing up some cash flow.
It all resonated deeply with me.
And naturally, I started sharing what I was learning with other people.
Not because I wanted to “sell” them something.
But because when something genuinely helps you, you tend to talk about it.
I Was Open to Income Helping Others, but Did Not Know It Would Become a Successful Business & Income
This is the part that surprises many people. I did not originally join Norwex thinking I would build a meaningful income for our family. I was hoping to contribute, but had no idea how much people would fall in love with Norwex, just as I had.
I knew that I needed ALL the products in my home… and that simply wasn’t in the budget, so opening a Norwex consultant account made a lot of sense, regardless.
As I shared the products with friends and family, people became curious. I hosted my first show at my house, and six friends showed up. Four of them said they’d like me to do a Norwex party for them (even though I was brand new and had no idea what I was doing!)
They wanted to learn more, and wanted their friends to learn, too. And… the Norwex host rewards made hosting irresistible (which has been one of the biggest gifts Norwex gives us as consultants!). They wanted to know:
- What I was using
- Why my cleaning cabinet looked different
- How the Norwex cloths worked
- Why I stopped buying cleaners
- How they could make healthier changes too
And naturally, income started coming in. At first, it was extra grocery money (I wanted to be able to buy more organic food). Then it helped with bills. Then a different vehicle for my husband. Then travel (earned for free!). Then larger financial goals and things on my dream board.
Over time, it grew into something far bigger than I ever expected. But the foundation was never hype. It was helping people. (Let me say, this is not an income claim, just my personal results, as your results will be directly tied to your personal results.)
The Difference Between Selling and Serving
One thing I appreciate about this business model is that it can be built relationally. You do not have to become someone pushy. Praise God for that! You do not have to pressure people. You do not have to turn into a “salesperson.” (Even 17 years in, I would not say I’m “good at sales”, and that is OK. I am good at investing in people and helping them succeed. And that has been what has grown my business.)
In fact, I believe the most successful people in this business are most often the ones who genuinely care about making other people’s life better.
They listen. They educate. They share stories. They solve problems.
Many women today are already looking for:
- Ways to detox our homes
- Simpler living solutions (free up some bandwidth for things we love!)
- Better options for our families
- Flexible income opportunities
- A supportive community
- Work we can do around their real life, and mostly from the comfort of our home
Sometimes they just need someone to introduce them to a solution they did not know existed.
Why This Mission Matters More Than Ever
We are living in a time where many families are becoming more intentional. People are reading labels more carefully. They are asking more questions. They are reconsidering what enters their homes.
At the same time, many are also looking for ways to earn additional income without sacrificing their entire life in the process.
They want:
- Flexibility
- Purpose
- Community
- Meaningful work
- The ability to contribute financially
- More margin for their family
That is why this mission continues to matter. Helping people detox our homes is not just about cleaning.
It is about creating an environment that supports the life you are trying to build. And for some of us, sharing that mission has also created opportunities financially.
What I Love Most About Sharing Norwex and helping others detox our homes
After all these years, what I love most is not actually the products. It is the people. I have met incredible women and lifelong friends. I have watched people grow in confidence. I have seen families create extra income. I have watched women realize they are capable of more than they believed and they have the vehicle to fulfill their purpose.
And I have seen the ripple effect that happens when one person begins making healthier changes in their home.
It spreads.
To their children. To their friends. To their community.
That matters.
Could This Be Something You’d Love Too?
If you have ever:
- Wanted to detox your home

You do not need to have everything figured out. You do not need a huge following. You do not need to be perfect.

And sometimes the smallest step ends up opening the biggest door.
