I’d like to take a minute to review the Enviro and Window cloth team. When purchased separately, these two cost $34.98 + S/H & tax. But if you buy them as the “Basic Package”, they’re only $32.99 + S/H & tax. Considering what these two cloths will SAVE you in cleaning costs, they are worth their weight in gold!
When I first heard about the Norwex cloths, I was skeptical whether they’d be any different from the microfiber that I was already using, and told my friend so when she hosted her first Norwex party. But since I *had* been searching for a safe, effective and environmentally-friendly toilet bowl cleaner, I was thrilled to give the Sanira System a try! It wasn’t until her visit that I was able to actually try her Norwex cloths first-hand. First we tried various cleaning tasks with the microfiber cloths that I had, and then we used the Norwex ones. There was no question which ones worked best!
How I love my Norwex cloths… Let me count the ways….
They are incredible at cleaning up greasy areas- perfect around the stove. If I need that little extra oomph on our flat-top stove (i.e. cooked on potato water), I just use a little Cleaning Paste with my Enviro cloth, then polish it up with my window cloth.
I adore how well these take soap scum off our bathtub… with JUST water! Then the combo of the Enviro cloth with window cloth leaves my mirrors & stainless steel faucets with a streak-free shine. And these two cloths together leave my granite counter tops sparkling.
And I’m amazed at this window-cleaning-duo! Quick and streak-free! I used to get so frustrated when I was using Windex and paper towels. I’d work and work to get it streak-free, then I’d walk by later, only to see STREAKS. You’ll be amazed by how well these work on windows. And, if you have hard-to-reach windows, the Norwex mop system (with the mop brackets) is wonderful to use with your Window Polishing Cloth (or gray Car Cloth). Simply brilliant.
I’m always amazed when I’m able to remove carpet stains simply by spritzing the stain with water and rubbing it out with an Enviro cloth. No more stinky, toxic carpet cleaners that just leave a big black spot a week later anyway! In case you have an especially tenacious carpet stain or a pet stain, Norwex also has an excellent, non-toxic Carpet Stain Buster that works great on protein-based stains and odors!
I’m also very impressed with how Norwex stands behind their products, offering a 2-year warranty with their microfiber cloths and mop products. That’s pretty awesome. And to think that most people report that their cloths last closer to 5+ years! That’s saving our environment from a whole lot of paper towels, wipes & plastic bottles. And toxic chemicals. Man I love my job! 🙂
For those of you who’ve been at one of my parties, you’ll know what I’m talking about when I call these my “Bert and Ernie cloths“. They go virtually nowhere without each other. They work best as a team!
So that’s a lot of pros for these two humble cloths… how about the cons? Well, if you don’t rinse it well under water (and possibly use a drop of dish soap) after doing extra dirty jobs, they may stain. Now, cleaning cloths aren’t necessarily meant to be beautiful, but when we feel the way we do about THESE cloths, we like to do all that we can…. 🙂 So, just rinse the cloth in water and rub it against itself (that way the microfiber can clean itself). Use a drop of our amazing dish soap if it’s an extra stubborn stain. And another con- if you don’t rinse out your cloth after cleaning and leave it in a wet heap, it will begin to have an odor. So don’t do that! After using it, rinse it well, wring it out well, and hang it to dry. (It is actually beneficial to occasionally boil your Norwex Enviro cloths (in a kettle of water on your stovetop) as needed. They are so effective at holding on to stuff, that the heat really helps to swell the fibers and release anything stuck in the cloth (and take care of any accumulating odors). 15 minutes in a pot of water on the stove. If you’ve got hard water, you may want to add a bit of white vinegar, too, and sometimes adding a little baking soda at the end of the boiling really helps to clean them.) Then just launder them as usual- no fabric softener, no bleach, and no linty loads. Oh, and I should also mention what we call the “Deep Clean”. This entails soaking your cloths overnight in a bowl or sink with HOT water & a higher concentration of the Norwex Ultra Plus Laundry Detergent. I put 1-2 full scoops into a very large bowl with hot water & then let my cloths soak overnight! Amazing results!)
So there you have it- my synopsis of the incredible “Dynamic Duo” (a.k.a. “Burt and Ernie cloths”). If you’re wondering where to start with Norwex products, I’d highly recommend getting these two cloths at a minimum– you’ll be SO glad you did!
