There are moments in life that almost don’t feel real. A few weeks ago, I found myself standing in Norway on Norwegian soil with my father, Larry, my sister, Shari, and one of my four sons, Benji.
For my dad, this wasn’t just vacation. This trip to Norway was a journey back to the land of our ancestors—a chance to walk where generations of our family once lived, to stand on the very farm where our family history began, and to experience the breathtaking beauty of the country that had lived in our family stories for decades. Watching my dad experience that… seeing the joy on his face… is something I’ll treasure forever. And another thing that made this trip extra sweet is that Norway is also the roots of our company, Norwex! (Norwex stands for “Norwegian Experience”)
As I looked around at our family together on this family heritage trip, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude.
Because this trip wasn’t just about Norway.
It represented something much bigger.
It represented freedom.
Freedom to say yes.
Freedom to create memories instead of only dreaming about them.
Freedom to spend time with the people I love while we still have the opportunity.
Those moments are priceless.
Sometimes Dreams Stay Dreams…
For many years, I had a bucket list. A Norway bucket list. Things I dreamed of doing, but wasn’t sure how they could actually ever happen.
Maybe you do too.
Perhaps yours includes traveling the world, taking your children or grandchildren on a special vacation, paying off debt, helping aging parents, building a dream home, supporting a ministry, adopting children, starting a nonprofit, or simply having enough margin that money isn’t constantly the source of stress.

Whatever your dream is…
It’s worth dreaming.
But I’ve learned something over the past 17 years.
Dreams usually require margin.
Margin of time.
Margin of finances.
Margin of flexibility.
Without those things, even wonderful dreams often stay parked on the “Someday” list.
A Business I Never Expected
Seventeen years ago, I wasn’t looking for a business.
I certainly wasn’t imagining that one day it would help finance trips like this one.
I simply wanted a little extra income.
I started my Norwex business during what we called “Mop Month.”

That month, hosts could earn a Norwex Mop System for free by hosting a qualifying party.
People were excited. Hosts booked parties to earn the Norwex mop for free. Bookings multiplied.
That single promotion helped me build momentum incredibly quickly. In fact, I give huge credit to the Norwex company-funded host rewards for MUCH of my success. It always gave me something insanely generous to offer my customers, hosts, and team members. #thankyounorwex And yet today, our host plan sets apart our business opportunity in such a meaningful way. Even those who don’t have much extra income to purchase the products can host, share with their peeps, and earn their Norwex completely free. And to be honest, when I started my Norwex journey, that was kind of where I was. Not much “extra” in the budget, and often a bit extra “month” at the end of the money.
Looking back now, it’s amazing how one small decision changed the trajectory of our family’s future.
Over the years, Norwex has helped provide opportunities I never imagined possible.
It has helped fund family vacations, and also allowed me to earn multiple (over 20) free trips that Norwex paid for… allowing me to literally travel the world more than I ever imagined.
College expenses.
Experiences.
Freedom.
Generosity.
Countless memories that simply wouldn’t have happened otherwise.
And while I’m incredibly grateful for the income, I’m even more grateful for what that income has allowed us to do.
Because money itself isn’t usually the dream.
It’s what money makes possible. What it allows us to say “yes” to.
Your Dream Matters Too
One of the greatest lies we can believe is that extraordinary lives are reserved for other people. They’re not. Everyone starts somewhere.
Sometimes all it takes is one “yes.”
One conversation. One opportunity. One small beginning.
When I began, I had no idea where the journey would lead. I certainly never imagined standing on a mountainside in Norway with my 80-year-old dad, watching him reconnect with his heritage.
Yet here we are. I made this quick video to walk through just a few of the highlights of our trip:
Norway was on mine. What Is On Your Bucket List?
If you had the time…
If you had the flexibility…
If the finances weren’t the obstacle…
What would you do?
Where would you go?
Who would you bless?
What memories would you create?
Take a minute and really think about it.
Write it down.
Dream again.
Because dreams have a funny way of becoming goals once we give ourselves permission to believe they’re possible.
Why Not Now?
As I write this, we’re in the final days of July, and it’s one of my favorite times of year to start a Norwex business.
Check out the Starter Kit options available this month, which make it an especially attractive time to begin. And even more exciting, August has traditionally been our famous Mop Month—the very promotion that launched my own business seventeen years ago.

Every year I smile a little when Mop Month rolls around because it reminds me where this incredible journey began.
You never know which small opportunity might become the beginning of something much bigger.
I’m certainly grateful I said yes.
What’s your “Norway”?

No pressure.
No obligation.
Just an honest conversation about what your dreams look like and whether Norwex might be one vehicle to help you move toward them.
Because sometimes the greatest gift isn’t the extra income.
It’s the freedom that income creates.
And sometimes…
It looks like standing beside your father in Norway, realizing a dream that once seemed impossible.
