One of the common questions I have been asked for YEARS is, “Where are Norwex products made?”
And usually somewhere in that conversation comes another question:
“Why are the Norwex cloths made in China?”
In fact, that was the question that originally inspired this article way back in 2017!
But Norwex is a global company and sources products from all around the world. And now that we have updated 2026 information about exactly where many of our products are made, I thought it was time to give this article a BIG update!

So… where are Norwex products made?
According to Norwex’s August 2026 Where Our Products Are Made information, current Norwex products are made in 10 countries around the world:
United States • Canada • China • Austria • Germany • Israel • Italy • Nepal • South Korea • Thailand
Yes, many of our beloved microfiber products are made in China.
But many Norwex products are also made right here in the USA, quite a few are made in Canada, and others come from countries around the globe.
And I have a pretty unique perspective on the China part of this story because I’ve actually been there—twice!
Where Are Norwex Products Made?
Norwex started in Norway in 1994—our name actually comes from “The Norwegian Experience.” The company later expanded into Canada, then the United States, and has continued to grow around the world.
Norwex is not simply an American company or a Canadian company. Norwex is a global company.
That was one of my biggest takeaways years ago when I first started answering questions about why our microfiber was made in China. Different products are made in different parts of the world, depending on where Norwex can source the best, so let’s take a little trip around the globe!

What Norwex Products Are Made in the USA?
This one may surprise you!
A significant number of current Norwex cleaning, laundry and personal-care products are made in the United States, including:
- All-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner Concentrate

- Bright & White Laundry + Home Booster
- Carpet Stain Remover Concentrate
- Descaler
- Dish Soap

- Microfiber Deep Cleaner Laundry Booster

- Pet Stain and Odour Remover Concentrate
- Sportzyme
Norwex also currently lists a number of skincare, body-care and personal-care products as made in the USA, including Lysere™ products and several moisturizers, serums, balms and deodorant products.
So if you’ve wondered, “Is Norwex made in the USA?”
The answer is YES—many Norwex products are!
But that isn’t the whole story.
What Norwex Products Are Made in Canada?
Oh, Canada! 🇨🇦
Some pretty important Norwex favorites are currently made in Canada, including:
- PowerZyme™ Laundry Detergent
- Ultra Power Plus™ Laundry Detergent
- UltraZyme™ Dishwasher Powder
- Rinse Aid Plus
- Microfiber Cleaner Laundry Booster
- Heavy Duty Degreaser Concentrate
- Eco-Wash Laundry Detergent Strips
- 2-in-1 Dog Shampoo and Conditioner
- Dog Deodorizer
- Renewing Eye Cream & Refill
If you’ve followed me for long, you know how much I LOVE our laundry products—so Canada is doing some important work for us up there! I’ve had the privilege of traveling up to Canada four times this year and always love time with our Canadian friends and Norwex family!
Are Norwex Cloths Made in China?
Yes. Norwex microfiber products are currently made in China.
And THIS is the question that inspired the original version of this article.
In 2017, I was invited to go to Shanghai with fellow Norwex Senior VP Leaders from the US, Canada and Australia, as well as corporate executives, for the Grand Opening of our new factory in China.
Such an honor! It was an amazing factory with an incredible group of employees. One thing that I loved was that Norwex was able to open the facility debt-free, and the entire experience reinforced for me that Norwex is a company that lives their core values of Integrity, Trust and Respect.
When I returned home, I shared with my team some of my takeaways from the trip. And that became the original version of this article!
Why Are the Norwex Cloths Made in China?
When I originally wrote this article, I answered that question with three things:
1) China has tremendous textile expertise, and Norwex was able to significantly improve the quality of their cloths when they moved manufacturing to China.
2) Norwex is a global company and sources their products from all around the world. They started in Norway, moved into Canada and the US, and have continued expanding around the world.
3) Norwex is not only making a difference in our own country, but literally having a positive impact all around the globe!
And after all these years, I still love that bigger picture.
Norwex opened its first production facility in China in 2009 to help improve microfiber quality and meet the growing demand for Norwex microfiber.
But what really changed my perspective wasn’t simply reading about a manufacturing facility. It was going there to visit the actual factory and the Norwex employees there.
I’ve Actually Visited Norwex in China—Twice!
I took so many things away from that trip—and also from my first trip there in 2015. Before going to China for the first time, I think I had an idea in my head of what China was going to be like.
Then I actually went.
And I was so incredibly blessed by being there.
I had the opportunity to meet the people who help create our products, walk through the facility, see the manufacturing process and even eat in the employee lunchroom.
When I returned for the Grand Opening of the newer facility, I was blown away all over again.
It was an incredible facility.
But even more important to me were the PEOPLE.
Seeing the People Behind My Norwex Cloths Changed Something for Me
One of the things that struck me most was seeing how much human involvement there was throughout the process. I watched people working with the fiber, sewing and finishing cloths, and inspecting them throughout production, along with the quality control automation.
There were actual hands working on these cloths and actual eyes inspecting them.
And suddenly that EnviroCloth sitting in my home wasn’t simply a product coming out of a machine somewhere across the world. There were people behind it. I think that human touch and the care that goes into the process was one of the things that impacted me most.
It expanded my picture of Norwex. Here in the US, I could see what we were doing in homes—helping families simplify their cleaning and reduce unnecessary chemicals.
But when I traveled to China, I saw another piece of the circle. We couldn’t do what we do without them doing what they do. And it made this big global company feel very personal.
What I Observed About the Norwex China Facility
When I originally wrote this article in 2017, I shared some things that had especially impressed me during my visit. At the time, I learned that factories in China commonly closed for an extended Chinese New Year holiday and that employee turnover after that holiday could be significant.
That year, we were told that 100% of the Norwex employees had returned after the holiday.
I thought that spoke VOLUMES.
We also learned about Norwex’s participation in the UN Global Compact and its commitment to working conditions and fair labor. Those details reflect what I was told and observed during my visits at that time, so I don’t want to present employee counts, schedules, wages or other specifics from 2017 as though they are necessarily the same today.
But I DO want to preserve this part of my original article:
It was an incredible facility and I was so grateful for our employees in China who were—and continue to be—an integral part of sharing the Norwex mission!
What Else Does Norwex Make in China?
Microfiber is a huge part of Norwex manufacturing in China, but it isn’t the only thing.
Current Norwex products made there include microfiber and Lyocell Microfiber products along with many household tools and accessories, including:
- Mop Base
- Telescopic Mop Handle
- Multi-Use Handle
- Rubber Brush
- Rubber Broom Attachment
- Spray Mop Attachment
- Squeegee Attachment
- Spirinett
- SpiriSponge
- EnviroSponges
- Dish Cloths
- Cutting Board
- Silicone Food Storage Containers
- Stretchy Silicone Lids
- Reusable Produce Bags
- Forever Bottles
- Various kitchen and bathroom brushes and attachments
So when someone says “Norwex products are made in China,” that statement isn’t entirely wrong—but it’s definitely incomplete.
China is one important part of a much larger Norwex manufacturing story.
What Norwex Products Are Made in Austria?
Current Norwex products made in Austria include:
- Leather Shine
- Power Cleaning Paste
Yes—our beloved Cleaning Paste comes from Austria!
What Norwex Products Are Made in Germany?
Germany currently makes the:
- Magnet Ball
Short and sweet! 😂
What Norwex Products Are Made in Israel?

What Norwex Products Are Made in Italy?
Current Norwex products made in Italy include:
- Adult Silver Care Toothbrush and Refills
- Brightening Vitamin C Serum & Refill
- Smoothing Bakuchiol Serum & Refill
- Timeless Relaxation Rescue Gel
Interestingly enough, people actually search Google for information about Norwex manufacturing in Italy!
Norwex’s current manufacturing information tells us which products are made in Italy, but it doesn’t tell us the number of Norwex manufacturing plants in Italy—so I’m not going to make up an answer to that one. 😉
What Norwex Products Are Made in Nepal?
Nepal currently makes:
- Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls
- Norman of the Fjord, a limited-edition product
I especially love knowing that our Fluff and Tumble Dryer Balls come from Nepal!

- Deep Hydration BioCellulose Mask
as made in South Korea.
What Norwex Products Are Made in Thailand?
Thailand currently makes the:

So, Is Norwex an American Company?
Norwex did not begin as an American company. Norwex began in Norway in 1994, expanded into Canada and later the United States, and has grown into a global company.
Today, a substantial number of Norwex products are made right here in the USA—but others are manufactured around the world. So I wouldn’t describe Norwex simply as an American company.
And I certainly wouldn’t describe it as a Chinese company. Norwex has Norwegian roots and a global footprint and is truly making a positive difference across the globe.
What Are Norwex Cloths Made Of?
Another question people frequently ask is “What are Norwex cloths made of?” Norwex now offers several different types of microfiber, so there isn’t one identical fiber composition for every cloth.
Traditional Norwex microfiber products use extremely fine synthetic fibers, while Norwex also has Lyocell Microfiber products that incorporate plant-derived lyocell. Because the materials can differ from product to product, I always recommend checking the current product description or label if you’re looking for the exact composition of a particular Norwex cloth.
How Long Has Norwex Been Around?
Norwex started in Norway in 1994, so the company has now been around for more than 30 years I joined Norwex in 2009, which means I’ve personally had a front-row seat to more than 17 years of that story. I’ve watched products change, formulas improve, manufacturing evolve and Norwex continue to grow around the world. And that’s one reason I didn’t want to simply delete this old article and write something brand new. The original story still matters. It just needed a much bigger 2026 picture around it.
Who Owns Norwex?
Norwex has Norwegian roots and operates as a global company.
Norwex Holding AS in Norway is the parent company behind Norwex’s international operations. That distinction is important because these are actually three different questions:
Where did Norwex begin? Norway.
Where does Norwex operate? Around the world.
Where are Norwex products made? In multiple countries around the world.
Why Doesn’t Norwex Make Everything in the USA?
This question comes up too, and I understand why.
I love America. I’m an American girl! I love to buy “Made in America” products, and I’m beyond thrilled that SO many of the Norwex products are made right here in the USA!
But also, one of the things my trips to China helped me understand more deeply was what it means to be part of a global company. Different products are made in different countries based on the expertise, materials, technology and manufacturing capabilities needed for those products. And I learned firsthand not to judge the quality of a product—or the people behind it—simply by the country printed on its label.
Where Is Norwex Made? The Bottom Line
So if you came here asking “Where are Norwex products made?”, here’s the simplest answer: All around the world! As of August 2026, Norwex lists current products made in:
The United States, Canada, China, Austria, Germany, Israel, Italy, Nepal, South Korea and Thailand.
Many Norwex cleaning, laundry and personal-care products are made in the USA and Canada. Many Norwex microfiber products are made in China. And other specialty products are made in various countries around the globe.
My trips to China greatly expanded the way I saw all of this. Before going, it was easy to see only the little picture—what we were doing here in our own homes and communities. Going there allowed me to see another piece. The people. The hands. The care. The global connection.
Norwex is not only making a difference in our own country, but literally having a positive impact all around the globe! That was something I wrote in the original version of this article back in 2017. And all these years later, I still love it. Thank you, Norwex, for living by your core values of Integrity, Trust & Respect. I am honored to represent this company! 🙂
