Norwex just introduced a new Ergonomic Toilet Brush option, that is specifically intended to be used with the Norwex All-Purpose Bathroom Cleaner, “Blue Diamond“. So now I’ve been forced to choose a favorite. Do I love the new brush more than my Sanira system?
Well, I’ve been testing the new brush, and while I really like some of the features about it (like the portion of the brush that easily goes under the toilet rim, it fits very well into most toilet drain holes), I think I am still going to have to choose the Sanira System as my fave.
Why, you ask?
The Sanira Toilet System is an all-in-one system. When I see the toilet needs some cleaning, it’s RIGHT THERE!! I simply lean down, put my weight on the top of the brush for 4 seconds, the solutions comes out right on the brush, and in about 25 seconds, my toilet is CLEAN! I love that the brush is still WHITE 4 years later… doesn’t get all orange and yucky like most toilet brushes. It actually looks very neat next to my toilets. The cleaning solution and the brush are produced from environmentally-friendly raw materials. The cleaning solution is vegetable-based with coconut oil and a naturally-occurring sugar surfactant. The brush doesn’t contain metal parts, so no rusting. Using only 3/4 teaspoon weekly (compared with 2T of traditional cleaners) the solution will last approximately 1 year! The Sanira solution is not poisonous nor corrosive. And it breaks down within 48 hours compared to other solutions that need at least 30 days!! Might I add… I think the Sanira solution smells AMAZING! Diluted in some water, it’s also a great way to freshen up the toilet area in the bathroom or to clean GROUT!
I must admit that toilets can occasionally present quite a cleaning challenge, and there are times when you’ll need to pull out “the big guns” when facing a particularly stubborn toilet task. Some people have found that the DeScaler and toilet pumice stone work great on the more stubborn stains like hard water build-up or the “toilet ring”. Then to keep the ring from returning as quickly, I do what a leader on my team (Jeni) taught me… to coat it with a bit of Norwex Leather Shine! Your bathroom may smell a bit like honey for a week, but it really does help the ring from adhering to the porcelain as quickly!
First you will want to pour a gallon bucket of water quickly into your toilet (or simply “plunge” down the water level with the Sanira brush). This lowers the water level, allowing your cleaner more direct contact with the porcelain. Then you can either apply the Sanira solution full-strength & let it set for a bit, or you can apply DeScaler and let set for 10 minutes before cleaning with Spirisponge or toilet pumice stone. (As a side note: porcelain scratches very easily, so you would NOT want to use a product such as our spirinetts on your toilet! It will scratch off the porcelain. (Don’t ask me HOW I might know this….))
The Sanira brush is different from your standard toilet brush, and takes a bit of getting used to. I have had a couple of customers say that it does not fit well down into the “toilet hole” in some older or smaller toilets. Check out the photo above to see how the top of the bristles are what get under the rim to clean.
